After studying at Limerick School of Art and Design, Austin Bovenizer worked for the international greetings card industry in the UK. Later he worked for a number of publishers on a freelance basis. He has continued to work as a freelance illustrator as well as running a graphic design business.
As a graphic artist and illustrator Austin specialises in airbrush and digital mediums as well as working in some more traditional methods.
